This is a Scrum Master job in Amsterdam.
The client is a large European cable operator offering quad-play to its customers.  The client is deploying a new set of mobile, broadband, voice and TV products in several of its European markets.

The Scum Master is responsible for the day to day steering of one or more IT agile teams dedicated to online or OSS/BSS software development.The Scrum Master is the representative for the product stakeholder(s) into the technical teams. He/she is responsible for ensuring the requests from stakeholders are translated into technical user stories, and that the stories are written and prioritized. In addition, the technical product owner works closely with other agile practitioners and scrum teams members to respond to day-to-day questions and queries, and accepts deliverables from the scrum team at the end of each sprint. The key measure of success in this role will be the maintenance of a steady demand of work into the technical team, measured by the readiness of the technical product backlog at the beginning of each sprint. Proper management of stakeholder demand should result in reduced time to market for programs, initiatives or changes.

Main responsibilities of this Scrum Master job in Amsterdam are:

  • - Produce standard Scrum products.
  • - Run standard Scrum ceremonies.
  • - Some project Management experience. Must be familiar with Scrum but not too 'pure' in execution.
  • - Ensure that User Stories are created in a manner that translates technical requirements into language understood by the scrum teams.
  • - Prioritise the product backlog based on business value as defined by the stakeholders and overall return on investment for Liberty Global. Negotiates with other business units and product owners to resolve any conflicts in prioritization and to meet requested delivery deadlines.
  • - Review and accept user stories demoed by the team at the end of each sprint and ensure that deliveries are of high quality.
  • - Coach team members and business partners on agile best practices.
  • - Act as the single point of contact for the business stakeholders towards the IT team(s).
  • - Attend all scrum ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint review/demo).

Key knowledge and experience required for this Scrum Master job in Amsterdam:

  • - Previous experience in Telecommunications.
  • - At least 5 years experience in one or more aspects of Information Technology Deployment (business analysis, software design/development, IT architecture, project or program management).
  • - Experience in the telecommunications, online or OSS/BSS domains a plus.
  • - Understanding of agile principles and value-based delivery; minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with agile, scrum or lean methodologies.
  • - Extensive experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • - Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills (the ability to converse with, enthuse and influence team members and peers).
  • - Resilient, self-motivated and proactive and able to work with speed and accuracy to deadlines.
  • - Scrum Certified is a plus.
  • - Fluent English speaker, ideally other European languages.
